So… third and last post for today and I’ve saved the best for last. Vampire Weekend have a new single from their new album Contra (coming in January next year). I havent got the mp3 for you yet but I’ll put it up as soon as I can. Here’s the video so you can listen anyways:
A veeery fun video and song and it makes me look forward to the release of the new album only more. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do

Alright, I’ve noticed I haven’t really been posting much this last three months that this blog is running. But I’m trying to do as much as I can to get some good music out there and I think it will be getting better now because towards the end of the year everything is always a bit more about music than before with the whole “best artists and albums and tracks (and so on) of 2009″, especially at the end of decades. So here I am today with three posts for you guys.
Starting of first with something from The Xx. Definitely one of the best bands and album releases this year and I think they will be rather high in the forementioned rankings, so I guess there is not much introduction needed. So without many words: I found these two non-albums tracks and I thought that probably not many of you know them. Since their quality seems not as good as the album’s I’m guessing they’re from before the album. Anyways they’re still worth listening so… enjoy

A thing that I totally missed this year and don’t know how: TV on the Radio’s Guitarist Kyp Malone has a solo project. I discovered his song Give Blood which was released in July. It’s a wonderfully crazy song… so really something you would expect if you know TV on the Radio. I uploaded it for you but you should also check his myspace for more information.

Haha, I just listened to Lykke Li’s contribution to the New Moon Soundtrack and it reminded me of two things. Firstly, that Lykke Li is a great singer and secondly that I haven’t given you guys anything from her yet though I like her so much that I think everone should check her out and buy her records.
So I decided to upload a song of Kleerup for you which features Lykke Li and is pretty good in my opinion. I don’t know anything else about Kleerup though… judging from this song it’s probably also worth checking out. I’ll catch you guys up if I learn anything about him.

Róisín Murphy gets orally fixated November 12, 2009

As was posted on her myspace page Róisín Murphy is offering a free download of her new song Orally Fixated until 5pm GMT tomorrow. I didn’t know that she was pregnant but it’s good that the new releases come this time of the year because I always like listening to her and Moloko in the winter. Appearantly her new stuff will be sounding a bit darker than Overpowered was… but if you don’t read this until tomorrow I’ve uploaded the song for you to download. She said though that we should be patient with her since her baby will be coming any time now.
Hope you enjoy it. I’m really looking forward to more new stuff.

Alright. Another reason, among the release of the Vampire Weekend album, to look forward to January. I just read that the Cold War Kids are releasing a 4 song EP entitled Behave Yourself. Judging by the first track I’m just listening to and I’ve uploaded for you and the following teaser the band put together:
There also will be four shows in January as you can see from the poster and I read that if you have a ticket, you can download the show for free. Too bad I don’t live in the States because I think Cold War Kids make some really great stuff.

Finally… the first full songs by the new supergroup formed by Queens of the Stone Age’s/Kyuss’s Josh Homme, Foo Fighters’s/Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones. As the names promised the material of the teasers that were floating around the internet was really awesome. And as the teasers promised now the full songs are really, really awesome.
The full, self-titled album will be released from November 13th onward in short intervals. I’ll be sure to buy a copy as soon as it’s out… hope you will too.
